Chris Brown has been one of the most prominent international artists supporting Afrobeats, particularly through his numerous collaborations with Nigerian musicians.
His relationship with Davido began with their 2019 smash hit Blow My Mind from Davido’s A Good Time album. Since then, they have continued to collaborate on multiple tracks, including Lower Body (2019), Shopping Spree (2020) featuring Young Thug, and Nobody Has To Know (2022).
Most recently, Davido and Lojay scored their first Billboard Hot 100 entry through their feature on Chris Brown’s hit single Sensational, one of the lead tracks off his 11:11 album.
The song also earned both Nigerian stars a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards.
Chris Brown and Davido’s latest collaboration, Hmm, featured on the deluxe edition of 11:11, marking their sixth track together. Their chemistry and consistency in delivering chart-topping records make the idea of a joint EP an exciting prospect for fans worldwide.
With both artists signed to Sony Music, a collaborative project would further boost the global expansion of Afrobeats, celebrating Chris Brown’s longstanding contribution to the genre.
As the “Afrobeats to the World” movement gains momentum, this EP could be another defining moment in the fusion of Afrobeats and R&B on the international stage.
