In a recent video, well-known Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan criticizes the Grammy Award organizers for failing to recognize Nigerian musicians, particularly Burna Boy and Davido.

Nigerian musicians had a bad performance at the 66th Grammy Awards, which were held on Sunday at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California, as none of them took home any prizes.

Netizens were outraged by this decision, with activist VeryDarkBlack taking to the Grammy Awards with zeal to protest the Grammys’ refusal to reward Burna Boy, who has four nominations, and Davido, who has three.

Afrobeats is becoming a global music genre; hence, VeryDarkBlackMan claims that the Grammy organizers are trying to figure out how to stop it.

He continued by saying that the major reason they purposefully withheld something from Davido is because they want him to return so that he can be expected to be in a certain condition each year.

He said that Burna Boy or Davido ought to have taken home the Grammy for Best Global Music Album.

He continued by saying that the albums “Timeless” and “I Told Them” by Davido and Burna Boy had more views and had even been cut internationally than Shakti’s “This Moment.”

He continued, saying that Burna Boy and Davido were superior to Tyla for the Best African Music Performance, despite the fact that he had heard the song previously and didn’t even recognize the South African singer.

VDM declared that he believed Nigerian singer Ayra Starr was the owner of the Water song.

He also criticized the Grammy Award for playing the classic hit song “Water” by Fela Kuti as he gave Tyla the Best African Music Performance trophy for her number-one hit song.
