Davido breaks his silence for the first time on his dispute with Tiwa Savage: “It Was Like Brother and Sister Arguing”
Afrobeats heavyweight Davido has finally opened up about his relationship with Tiwa Savage, addressing the drama and online speculation that followed their public fallout in early 2024.
In a candid conversation on The Breakfast Club, Davido downplayed the tension between them, likening their disagreement to sibling rivalry.
“Me and Tiwa used to stay in the same house. It was like brothers and sisters arguing. It was nothing,” Davido explained, dismissing suggestions that their rift ran deep.
This marks the first time Davido has spoken publicly about the situation since Tiwa Savage’s letter to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police made headlines in January 2024.
In the letter, Tiwa disclosed that Davido had reacted negatively to her social media post featuring Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first daughter, which reportedly led to a warning from Davido relayed through mutual associates: “Be careful in Lagos.”
The aftermath saw the two Afrobeats giants unfollow each other on Instagram, fueling widespread rumors of a serious feud.
Davido acknowledged that while they haven’t crossed paths since the incident, Tiwa did reach out to him privately. He also left the door open for a future reconciliation: “If the link-up happens, it happens.”
Fans of both artists have been hopeful for peace between the two longtime friends and collaborators, who once shared not just musical chemistry but also a close personal bond.
