Afrobeats heavyweight Davido has weighed in on the unexpected political twist surrounding his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, following the governor’s quiet exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Rather than a long explanation, Davido chose a single word—”Jeje…”—a post that instantly sent social media into decoding mode. To many, it sounded like a gentle caution, a knowing whisper to take things slow as political tension gathers speed around the Adeleke camp.
The governor’s resignation came as a shock to supporters, not only because it surfaced late Monday night, but also because the actual letter had been submitted weeks earlier on November 4, 2025, just before the PDP’s national convention in Ibadan.
The twist deepened after his aide, Olawale Rasheed, leaked the letter online, confirming that Adeleke had quietly stepped away from the troubled party long before anyone realized.
In the letter addressed to his Ward 2 chairman in Ede North, Governor Adeleke pointed to the unresolved leadership crisis at the PDP’s national level as the final straw. He expressed gratitude to the party for supporting his political rise from senator to governor before walking away from the chaos.

But the revelation has thrown the PDP into disarray. The Osun 2026 governorship primary, scheduled for today, now sits in the middle of a storm.
The state chapter insists it can’t proceed due to internal battles, while the PDP’s National Working Committee maintains the race must go on even though Adeleke is the only aspirant who purchased the nomination form.
With the governor’s future now uncertain, speculation is heating up. Rumours suggest he may be preparing to seek a second term under the Accord Party, a party several of his aides are believed to have quietly infiltrated and taken control of in Osun.
Reports also indicate that Adeleke attempted to defect to the APC earlier, but his move was reportedly shut down by party leaders.
