I Spent Almost N1 Billion On My Last Album – Davido speaks on the earnings of recent album
Music superstar Davido, who is still enjoying the success of his most recent album “Timeless,” has opened up on the earnings of the album and has revealed the amount he spent on his third studio album ‘A Better Time’.
When ‘Timeless‘ was released, it broke multiple records and heralded Davido’s triumphant return.
Davido claims that even though he spent more money on his last album, “A better time,” than he has so far for his most recent album, “Timeless,” the latter has brought in more revenue in just a few days since its release.
001, as he is affectionately known, made the assertion on his publicity tour for “Timeless,” which was released on March 31, 3023, on the Ebro in the Morning Program on Hot 97FM, New York.
The DMW boss claimed that the money was used on the album’s creation, including guest appearances from artists, music videos, and album promotion.
The enthusiastic singer claimed that he spent about $2 million (approximately N1 billion) on his most recent album, “A Better Time“.
Despite the enormous expense, Davido revealed that his album “Timeless,” which cost $300,000 to make, made more money in just three days than its predecessor.
“My last album, I will tell you, I probably spent $2 million. That is for everything. You know what I’m saying?
“I haven’t even spent $300k on this album [Timeless]. And I made more already in three days. It just shows me the level of where African music is going”, he said.
Some of the records ‘Timeless‘ has made include:
Highest Charting African Album In US Apple Music History
Peaking Number 2 on the US Apple Music Album chart, becoming the highest charting album by an Afrobeats artiste, in the process
