The singer hits a new milestone on Spotify.
Nigerian Afrobeat superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has become the latest Nigerian artist to reach a billion streams across all credits on Spotify.
The DMW boss who blends traditional African elements with global mainstream pop has joined Ckay, Burna Boy, and Wizkid as Nigerian artists who have recorded above a billion streams across all credits on Spotify.
Due to the growth of music streaming, Spotify entered Nigeria in 2021 and has since gained more Nigerian subscribers.
It is anticipated that the introduction of new music streaming services would boost digital music consumption in Nigeria and provide more artists with the chance to expand their streaming audience.

The DMW boss knows how to make a statement, and he has done it yet again as he explains why he is supporting his uncle, Senator Adeleke, in the Osun gubernatorial elections.
According to Davido, the well-known proponent of the ‘We Rise by Lifting Others’ motto, his main motivation was simply because family is everything.
The singer also gave additional reasons by saying
“I feel like we’re the best people for the job and if you give us one or two years, you’ll see.”
