Davido Announces ‘Timeless’ North American Tour
Afrobeats singer, Davido is set to commence his one-week North American Timeless tour. The highly-anticipated tour will kick off on April 17 at the Madison Square Garden in New York, making him the third Nigerian artiste after Wizkid and Burna Boy to sell out the 20,000-capacity venue.
He will also perform at the Place Bell in Montreal, Quebec on April 19 and round off the week at Addition Financial Arena, Orlando Florida on April 24. These events will follow his recent tours at the Accor Arena in Paris and the O2 Arena in London.
The “Timeless Tour” pays homage to Davido’s fourth studio album, released on March 31, 2023. It consists of 17 songs, featuring guest appearances from Focalistic, Angélique Kidjo, Musa Keys, and others, all of whom have frequently joined Davido during his recent tours.
The album has already raised the standards for upcoming Afrobeats records. Upon its release, “Timeless” achieved the highest number of first-day streams for an African album on Apple Music. Additionally, it debuted at number two on Billboard’s World Music list, signaling a new achievement for the acclaimed Nigerian artist.
Despite not winning any nominations at the just concluded 66th Grammys held in Los Angeles, the album’s significance in influencing the global Afrobeats scene cannot be overlooked.
