VIDEO: Cubana Chief Priest and Ubi Franklin address rumour of public fistfight in hotel

Popular nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, and music executive Ubi Franklin have debunked viral reports alleging they were involved in a physical altercation at a luxury hotel in Abuja.
The two men, close associates of Afrobeats superstar Davido, appeared together in a video posted on Instagram to dismiss the claims as false and baseless.
The clip, which featured both personalities seated in the backseat of a vehicle, was shared by Davido’s logistics aide, Israel DMW.
In the video, Israel, speaking from the front passenger seat, poked fun at the rumors and questioned their credibility. “I do not understand oo, people can lie lie. They were saying CP did not want… Say Ubi dey find invite for wedding,” he said in disbelief.
The speculation began circulating online on Thursday after a blog claimed that Chief Priest and Ubi Franklin got into a heated exchange at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, which allegedly escalated into a physical scuffle.
According to the blog, the altercation stemmed from Chief Priest’s alleged attempt to block Ubi from reentering Davido’s inner circle, supposedly in connection with an invite to the singer’s upcoming white wedding in the United States this August.
However, the public show of camaraderie between the two in the video appears to have silenced any lingering doubts. Both men could be seen laughing and chatting, clearly unbothered by the speculation.

This isn’t the first time Ubi Franklin has publicly expressed his deep connection to Davido and his wife, Chioma. In June last year, just before their traditional wedding, Ubi penned an emotional tribute, recalling how Davido had entrusted him with managing Chioma’s career back in 2018—before the two had even met in person.
He described Chioma as a rare gem, praising her gentle spirit and unshakable loyalty. “I’ve never met anyone who had anything bad to say about her,” Ubi wrote at the time. He also lauded Davido’s support and pledged continued loyalty to the couple, wishing them success in their marital and business lives.
With the recent video clearing the air, it’s now evident that there’s no rift between the two high-profile figures. Instead, their bond with Davido—and with each other—appears as strong as ever.
