Cruz Afrika announces retirement from the music industry
Tshepo Modise, better known by his stage name Cruz Afrika, has announced his departure from the South African music industry.
The Trap star made a statement announcing his decision, saying he thought most musicians would hesitate to make that decision.
“After years of a very successful career and the addition of relative industry awards, the controversial South African trap star Mr Pray for Me hitmaker announces that he is ready to retire from the music industry,” reads the press release.
The CEO of Afrika Hotlines who will celebrate his 40th birthday on the 23rd of March 2023 posted a heartfelt video clip on social media to announce his retirement from the music industry.
“He mentioned that although he will not be recording any new music, he will still be available for features and co-signs for the benefit of young independent artists to use his household brand status to further their careers.”

“In the video @Iamcruzafrika mentioned that he plans on using the extra time on his hands to significantly develop his co-record label artists @Nex_Vocals,@Djlisa_sa, @Dj_Fingz and @2la_Sa.”
“However his main focus will be to empower and mentor young artists across the country so they can live their dreams. In the trending clip Mr “Shaka Zulu” hitmaker said: “My plan is to focus on @Afrikahotlines which is his well-established record label / Marketing and PR company.”
Meanwhile, Cruz will retire with a USA club tour, which will see him performing 10 shows across 5 states, including, New York, Atlanta, The Bay Area, and Los Angeles.
