Release date of Craig David and Tiwa Savage’s highly anticipated collaboration revealed
British R&B star Craig David is making a grand return to the music scene with a major collaboration featuring Nigerian Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage.
Their joint single, ‘Commitment,’ has been confirmed for release on February 26, 2025, marking one of the biggest musical pairings of the year.
The anticipation for ‘Commitment‘ has been building since last month when Tiwa Savage teased a snippet of the song during an Instagram Live session.
Expressing her excitement, she described the collaboration as a milestone in her career. “This collaboration is a dream come true,” she said. “I’ve been a huge fan of Craig for years, and working with him has been such an amazing experience. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
Craig David, known for his signature blend of R&B and garage music, revealed in an interview with ‘The Sun UK‘ that he specifically sought out Tiwa Savage for the project.
“Tiwa is an incredible artist. When I’d finished Commitment, I felt like the song needed her. It’s an Afrobeats type of song, and that’s her world—she lives, eats, and breathes it,” he shared.
He admitted he was unsure if she would be interested but was thrilled when she agreed. “I reached out, and I wasn’t sure if she’d be up for it, but she was. I gave her the freedom to do her own thing. I told her not to feel constrained by the song I’d sent and to add her own verse. She came back with it, and I was like, ‘Yo! This is the one.’”
With a fusion of nostalgic R&B elements and contemporary Afrobeats influences, Commitment is expected to captivate both longtime fans of Craig David and Tiwa Savage, as well as new listeners.
As the release date approaches, excitement continues to grow for what promises to be a standout record in 2025.
