Liverpool squad: Confirmed shirt numbers for 2023/24 season
For the 2023/24 season, Mp3bullet lists every player’s jersey number in the Liverpool squad, including newcomers Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.
Liverpool faces a difficult task if they want to, at the very least, return to the Champions League positions and compete for titles once more in the 2023–24 season.
In order to get his club back to contending at the top after a poor season that saw them finish outside of the top-four slots in the Premier League for the first time in a very long time, Jurgen Klopp has lost some dependable heads but also has some sparkling new toys to work with.
What shirt numbers have the new additions at Anfield claimed?
With the £105 million combined signings of Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai thus far in the summer transfer window, Klopp’s renovation of the Reds’ roster has already begun.
Sadio Mane left the number ten jersey unworn after joining Bayern Munich last summer, and it has since been worn by Mac Allister, John Barnes, Luis Garcia, Philippe Coutinho, and Michael Owen.
When Naby Keita left earlier this summer, Szoboszlai chose the number eight jersey that was left open. The renowned former captain of the Reds, Steven Gerrard, is inked on the Hungarian midfielder’s body, which may have had some bearing on his decision to choose that particular number.
The club also lost a number of players as their contracts expired in June, including James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Jordan Henderson, a former club captain, and Fabinho also bid farewell to Anfield in favour of lucrative jobs in Saudi Arabia.
Before the start of the new season, the squad numbers have changed as a result of the mass exodus, and more new additions are expected before the summer transfer window closes.

Darwin Nunez took up the historic number nine shirt, last worn by Firmino previous to his departure this summer, after a hit-or-miss rookie season. The Uruguayan striker originally wore the No. 27, but switched numbers rapidly over the offseason.
Meanwhile, Luis Diaz joins Liverpool superstars Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Steve McManaman, Luis Suarez, and, most recently, Milner in donning the number seven.
