FA Cup semi-final draw: Man United, Man City, Chelsea & Coventry learn fate
The confirmed draw for the 2023–24 FA Cup semi-finals has been announced. Manchester United is set to face Coventry City, while holders Manchester City will take on Chelsea in the other fixture, both scheduled to be held at Wembley Stadium.
Manchester United secured their spot in the semi-finals after a thrilling encounter at Old Trafford against Liverpool. The heavyweight clash ended in a 2-2 draw, with Antony’s late equalizer forcing extra time. Goals from Harvey Elliott and Marcus Rashford, along with a 121st-minute winner from Amad Diallo, sealed a memorable victory for the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, Chelsea faced a tough challenge from Championship side Leicester City at Stamford Bridge. The Blues had to rely on late goals from Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke to secure a hard-fought 4-2 win and advance to the semi-finals.
Coventry City also secured their place in the semi-finals with a dramatic victory at Molineux Stadium. Late goals in the 98th and 100th minutes sealed a historic win for Coventry, marking their first appearance in the FA Cup semi-finals since 1987.
In contrast, Manchester City breezed past Newcastle United with a comfortable 2-0 victory at St. James’ Park, ensuring their progression to the next stage of the competition.
