Chelsea confirm Cole Palmer’s new contract extension
Cole Palmer has expressed his excitement after signing a new long-term contract extension with Chelsea.
On August 13, 2024, news broke that Palmer had signed a two-year extension, extending his current deal until 2033. The contract also includes a salary increase, rewarding him for his outstanding performance in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea confirmed the extension shortly afterward, congratulating the 22-year-old on his new deal.
“I’m delighted to sign this new deal,” Palmer shared. “I achieved a lot in my first season here, and I hope to continue experiencing great things at this club, both personally and by bringing success and trophies to Chelsea.”

Previously earning around £80,000 per week, Palmer’s new wage is now reportedly comparable to that of his midfield partners, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who earn over £120,000 weekly.
Chelsea’s contract policy typically offers lower base wages but includes significant incentives that allow players to increase their earnings based on their on-field performances and the club’s success.
While some players’ contracts include wage cuts when not playing in the Champions League, they also promise significant bonuses if they help the team return to Europe’s top competition.
It’s reported that the average wage of Chelsea’s senior squad is now around £60,000 per week, a stark contrast to the £200,000 per week during Roman Abramovich’s ownership. Raheem Sterling currently holds the title of the club’s top earner, making over £300,000 weekly.
