FineFace has released a new project, Cold Weather (The EP), which is a strong step forward and a sign that his voice in the Afro-fusion space is worth paying attention to.

FineFace, a fast-rising Lagos-based singer-songwriter and rapper, opens his heart on his new EP titled Cold Weather (The EP), released on January 30th, 2026.

This project is short, emotional, and deeply personal. It blends Afrobeats, Afro-fusion, and R&B, with clear influence from Olamide Baddo, especially in the delivery and street-smart honesty of the lyrics.

Cold Weather (The EP) feels like a diary written through music. It tells the story of love, pain, regret, and emotional confusion after a relationship ends. FineFace does not hide his feelings. Instead, he shares them openly, making the EP easy to understand and relatable, even for a 15-year-old listener.

The project was recorded in a simple, intimate setting, an apartment, with just FineFace, his producer, and a videographer. This closeness is reflected in the music, giving the songs a raw and honest feeling.

“Onitemi” – Love That Feels Like Trouble

The EP opens with “Onitemi,” a song that captures the frustration and madness that can come with deep love. FineFace sings partly in English, Pidgin, and Yoruba, which adds emotion and cultural depth.

    Lines like:

“Onitemi, why you dey para, I won know why you dey para” and “This your love is so crazy, I can’t even concentrate”

show confusion and emotional stress caused by love. When he says:

“If love is a crime, I go cause murder”

He exaggerates to explain just how intense his feelings are. The Yoruba lines:

“Onitemi, ebe mo be, gbo temi… Ife re lo n pami bi oti”

translate to love hurting him like alcohol, strong, painful, and overwhelming.

The song sets the emotional tone for the EP perfectly.

“Love” — Apology and Begging From the Heart

The second track, “Love,” is softer and more emotional. This is FineFace saying sorry and asking for another chance. The lyrics are simple but powerful.

    Lines like:

“Baby kilode, I’m sorry if I hurt” and “I’m begging you please, Folasade come give me love”

    show regret and humility.

The song feels like a voice note sent late at night, full of honesty. When he sings:

    “Omotena so ma telemi l’ole”

It sounds like a plea not to be abandoned. The song connects easily with anyone who has ever begged for love or forgiveness.

“You” — Love, Money, and Disappointment

On “You,” FineFace becomes more direct. This song talks about betrayal and the painful truth that money can sometimes ruin love.

    Lines like:

“You say you dey mad over me, but you left me because of money”

are simple but heavy. He expresses disappointment and confusion—how can someone claim love and still walk away? The line:

“Talking to you… move on baby ma ko ba mi”

shows him trying to accept reality, even though it hurts. This song feels mature and reflective.

FineFace’s sound across Cold Weather (The EP) is calm, emotional, and clear. His Afro-fusion and R&B style, mixed with street influence from Olamide, makes the project feel modern yet heartfelt. He does not try to use big grammar or complex ideas. Instead, he focuses on clear emotions, honest storytelling, and simple language.
