Trending Nigerian Music Star, CKay has now become the first African artist to surpass 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
CKay shows no signs of slowing down after his Tik Tok triumph and debut on the Billboard Global 200 list as he becomes the first African artist to reach 20 million Spotify listeners.
On his Spotify profile alone, the Afrobeat singer-songwriter has 24,175,109 million monthly listeners, making him the first on the continent to accomplish so.
When he first hit 12 Million listeners, he took to Instagram to share his excitement saying,
“Music does bring the world together. Love y’all, Let’s get to number 1!”
Since his 2019 debut, the futuristic Afrobeat aficionado has been doing us proud, with a slew of achievements under his belt.
The success of his breakthrough track “Love Nwantinti” and the several international remixes that followed helped him cement his position at the top. The track’s success on the social media video-sharing app Tik Tok also played a role.
The “Love Nwantiti” Dance Challenge drew Tik Tok users from all over the world, propelling the song even higher up the rankings.
The remix of the song featuring DJ Yo and Axel has been used in over 3 million videos on the app, with the song being the most Shazamed song as a result of the social media demand.

Currently, CKay has over 24 Million monthly listeners on Spotify with the different remixes of “Love Nwantiti” amassing huge numbers of streams.
The original version of the song has about 84,915,673 million streams while the remix featuring DJ Yo and Axel has about 69,600,749 Million streams.
Ckay surpasses other Nigerian Music stars like Burna Boy and Tems who have over 10 Million monthly listeners respectively and Wizkid with over 9 Million Monthly listeners.
