Christian Pulisic agrees personal terms with AC Milan but Serie A side yet to strike deal with Chelsea.
Christian Pulisic and AC Milan have reached a personal agreement, but the Serie A club and Chelsea have not yet reached an agreement.
ESPN reports that Pulisic and Milan have reached a personal agreement, but that Milan and Chelsea are unable to come to terms on a transfer money.
Knowing that Milan will be flush with cash from the €70 million (£60 million/$76 million) Sandro Tonali transfer to Newcastle, Chelsea is asking for a price of €25 million (£21 million/$27 million) for the American, although Milan is trying to talk them down from that amount.
According to the source, Pulisic is also prepared to accept a significant wage reduction in order to join Milan. The winger is reportedly rejecting all alternatives, according to various reports.
It remains to be seen which club will blink first in this stalemate, Chelsea or Milan. Chelsea need to balance the books and therefore aren’t in a position to make big demands.
However, they know Milan will have cash once the Tonali deal is complete, and therefore recognise that the Italian side can afford him. The player needs to get his career back on track after falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge in the last two seasons.
