Chris Brown thanks Wizkid for a life-changing UK concert opportunity
American singer Chris Brown publicly thanks Nigerian superstar Wizkid for inviting him to perform at his 2021 O2 Arena concert, marking Brown’s first UK show in over a decade.
In a video shared by Luthortv, Brown referred to Wizkid as his “brother for life” and recalled the generous gesture that left a lasting impression on him. Describing the experience as “unforgettable,” Brown praised Wizkid’s talent and influence.
“Wizkid invited me to perform on my biggest stage in the UK in 10 years. I had been performing all across America but hadn’t had a show there,” Brown shared. He went on to reveal that Wizkid not only invited him but also covered all his expenses.
“One day, Wiz called and said he was setting everything up for me to join his O2 Arena concert. He paid for everything, and I was blown away. Wizkid is my brother for life,” Brown said emotionally.
Brown’s absence from the UK stage dated back to 2009, following a ban imposed after his guilty plea for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna. The 2021 O2 Arena concert with Wizkid marked his return to the UK stage, breaking his long-standing performance drought.
Brown’s continued gratitude highlights the profound impact of Wizkid’s support on his career, as well as their enduring friendship, built on mutual respect and a shared love for music.
