Why I love afrobeats – American singer, Chris Brown reveals.
American award-winning artist Chris Brown has revealed why he loves Afrobeat music. He claims that he plays Nigerian Afrobeats music when he is not playing his own songs.
In a recent episode of the Million Dollarz Worth Of Game podcast, the ‘New Flame’ singer revealed this.
He believes the genre deserves all of the international recognition it is receiving.
He said, “If I’m not playing my music, I play Afrobeats. I love how the genre is blossoming and all the recognitions is dope.
“I have been listening to [afrobeats] for a while. Me and Wiz [Wizkid] we got like an afrobeats-type song on my album [Breezy].”
This multi-talented superstar loves and promotes Afrobeats more than any other foreign musician. The artist’s music is classified as polyhedric, with influences from a variety of genres, primarily hip hop and pop music, although he still enjoys Afrobeat.
Chris Brown has worked on five new Afrobeats collaborations in the year 2022, earning him the joking title of “Afrobeats Artiste of the Year” on Twitter from his admirers.
Numerous Nigerian Afrobeats artists, such as Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Fireboy, and Lojay, have collaborated with him.
He also won the Best International Act at the 2022 Nigerian music award show, Headies Awards.
