After a string of controversial Instagram stories over his Grammy loss, Chris Brown has recently expressed regret for his comments regarding Best R&B Album Award winner Robert Glasper.

Brown expressed his dissatisfaction in losing to the producer on social media after being passed over for Best R&B Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards by tweeting a meme asking, “WH THE F*CK IS ROBERT GLASPER,” among other harsh remarks.

“BRO WHO THE F–K IS THIS?” the “Breezy” creator, 33, captioned a screenshot of his Google search of Glasper, which described the 44-year-old Houston native as “an American pianist, record producer, songwriter and musical arranger with a career that bridges several different musical and artistic genres.”

Atop Glasper’s accolades — which include four previous Grammy wins — Brown once again asked, “YALL PLAYING ???????????????????? WHO DA F–K IS THIS?” before adding, “Ima keep kicking y’all ass! Respectfully.”

The “Under the influence” hitmaker begged the question a third time, sharing a meme that read, “WH???? THE F*CK IS ROBERT GLASPER,” before telling his followers he’s “gotta get [his] skills up” and “start playing the harmonica.”

The next slide featured a photo of Brown doing just that. “NEW LEVEL UNLOCKED!” he wrote across the image. “HARMONICA BREEZY.”

Perhaps due to the reaction received, Brown has since directly apologized to Glasper.

“I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys.. you were not the Intended target and I know I came off really rude and mean. After doing my research I actually think your amazing,” he wrote in an Instagram direct message.

    WHO IS ROBERT GLASPER?

    ROBERT GLASPER

Glasper, who has a 20-year career but is not as well-known as other producers, prefers to let his music speak for itself.

With a focus on jazz, Glasper is a skilled pianist, producer, and composer who has collaborated with a wide range of well-known musicians, including Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Bilal, and others. Additionally, he has a number of notable albums to his credit, including “Black Radio,” which in 2013 won him his first Grammy for Best R&B Album.

In addition to Brown, Glasper triumphed against other nominees such as Mary J. Blige for “Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe),” Lucky Daye for “Candydrip,” and PJ Morton for “Watch the Sun.”
