Chike Drops Video Teaser For Forthcoming Album “Son of Chike”
Nigerian singer Chike is gearing up for the release of his third studio album, “Son of Chike,” which is scheduled to drop on July 19, 2024. Chike has clarified that this album is “not an Afrobeats album,” urging fans to listen carefully to understand his artistic direction.
Following the success of his previous works, “Boo of the Booless” (2020) and “The Brother’s Keeper” (2022), Chike has solidified his position in the Afrobeats and R&B scene. His debut album, released on Valentine’s Day in 2020, explored various aspects of love and featured powerful vocals and smooth melodies, with hit songs like “Beautiful People” and “Fancy U.”
His sophomore album, “The Brother’s Keeper,” demonstrated his artistic growth, covering a wider range of themes and sounds. This album resonated with fans for its depth and reflection, further establishing Chike as a talented songwriter. Notable tracks from this album include “On Fire (Pana Time)” and “Ego Oyibo.”
“Son of Chike” will complete a trilogy of albums for the artist. Chike has been promoting the album extensively on social media, where he teased collaborations with several notable artists, including Olamide, Qing Madi, Amaarae, Mohbad, and Ladipoe.
Among the pre-released singles are “Egwu” featuring Mohbad, “Man Not God,” and “Ego Oyibo.” “Man Not God” is a particularly poignant track that serves as an ode to divine will, reminding listeners that humans should not attempt to assume the role of God.
The anticipation for “Son of Chike” is high, and fans are eagerly awaiting its release on Friday, July 19, 2024.
