Chike Calls Out Woman for Alleged $20,000 Scam in Late-Night Twitter Thread
Nigerian singer Chike has taken to social media to publicly accuse a woman, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, of defrauding him in what he claims was a fake business deal.
The drama unfolded in the early hours of Monday, March 16, on X (formerly Twitter), where the singer shared a series of posts warning others about the alleged scam.
Chike alleged that what he initially believed to be a legitimate business transaction ended up costing him $20,000, adding that other victims could have lost a combined total of $50,000. The singer included the woman’s picture and full name in his posts, which quickly gained traction online as netizens debated the details.
The thread began shortly after midnight with a seemingly cryptic question:
“Chioma Nneoma Ochibili? So you are a thief?” he wrote, accusing her of claiming to run a business while, according to him, “her business is to survive on your money.”

He followed up by posting her photo with a similar caption, urging anyone who had given her money to seek repayment. Chike described his own loss as $20,000 and blamed himself for not identifying the alleged scam sooner. About an hour later, he added a cryptic remark:
“OG will have a heart attack when he sees this in the morning,” seemingly referencing others who contributed to the remaining $30,000.

After hours of online speculation, Chike clarified his main concern:
“Do not get distracted. The focus is not about the amount of money. Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud.”
He stressed that his tweets were not primarily about recovering the money, which he claimed he was already pursuing through other channels, but about alerting the public to prevent further losses.

In a later post, Chike shared a screenshot from someone claiming to know Chioma personally, alleging that she had scammed friends, a former boyfriend, and even her current partner.
