Nigerian artist Chike has received the Number 1 plaque for his chart-topping song “Egwu,” featuring the late Mohbad. The achievement was celebrated by TurnTable Charts on their official Instagram page, recognizing Chike’s inaugural entry at the top of the Official Nigeria Top 100 singles chart.
“Egwu” claimed the Number 1 position on the Official Nigeria Top 100, showcasing Chike’s impact with the hit song. The track, released in December 2023, features a fusion of R&B, Igbo indigenous music, and Afrobeats, contributing to its popularity on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, where it has been featured in over 400,000 videos.
The song’s success is further highlighted by its impressive 5.9 million streams on Spotify within just one month, solidifying its status as a chart-topping hit. The Number 1 plaque symbolizes Chike’s significant achievement in the Nigerian music industry.

In other news, Chike has splurged approximately N250 million on a brand new Mercedes G-Wagon.
In a playful reference to the color of his new G-Wagon, Chike mentioned on Instagram that there’s no “detty December” where he is, and everything is in the color white, suggesting a celebration or positive vibe surrounding his new acquisition.
