The rapper discloses plan to do 50% Afropop this year after hanging out with Big Wiz
Following a meeting with Wizkid, Akanbi Bamidele Brett aka Cheque declared his decision to transition from Trap to Afropop this year.
The 26-year-old ‘Rockstar‘ singer opened up on Twitter about how hanging out with the Grammy Award-winner shifted his perspective on Afropop.
Cheque is signed to Phyno’s PentHauze music and is a well-known trap artist. In the year 2020, he was one of several breakout stars, and he has continued to release successful songs.
He is mostly known for his Afro-Trap songs like “Zoom”, “History”, “Razor”, “LOML“, but it seems this new year would see the rapper join his colleagues who have switched to Afropop.

In a tweet, he wrote;
“I dey with wizzy, they just dey play Afro Afro so, no trap. 50 percent Afro this year, I vex,”
