Chelsea confirm Aaron Anselmino transfer as summer spending continues
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old center-back Aaron Anselmino on a seven-year contract. The Blues have paid around £17m for the teenager’s services, with the potential for him to become a first-team regular in the coming years.
Anselmino will return to Boca Juniors on loan before linking up with the Chelsea first-team squad at a later date. This signing marks the eighth summer signing for Chelsea and the latest South American talent to join the club during the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital era.
Other South American talents who have joined Chelsea include Kendry Paez, Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, and Angelo Gabriel.
Additionally, the highly-rated Estevao Willian will join the club next summer in a deal worth an initial £29.5m, which could rise to £51m if certain criteria are met.
Anselmino’s recruitment by Chelsea is evidence of their dedication to developing young players and making long-term investments. Anselmino is anticipated to have a big influence at Stamford Bridge in the future due to his talent and the club’s commitment in his growth.
In a statement, Chelsea said, “We are delighted to welcome Aaron Anselmino to the club. He is a talented young player with a lot of potential, and we believe he will be a great addition to our squad.”
