Cardi B vows legal action against troll who called child protective services on her
American rapper Cardi B has announced plans to take legal action against an individual who made an anonymous call to Child Protective Services (CPS), resulting in an unwarranted visit to her home.
The rapper expressed her outrage during an Instagram Live session on October 22, 2024, detailing the incident in which CPS showed up at her residence late at night based on false allegations of child abuse.
Cardi, who had recently been hospitalized before the incident, voiced her frustration over the seriousness of the situation, calling the prank call deeply irresponsible. “To do a prank call with CPS to come to my gated mansion at 11pm while my children are sleeping because of an anonymous call that my kids have been getting abused and beaten. Are you f***ing dumb?” she angrily stated.
She condemned the prank as not only reckless but also racially insensitive, noting that she is the only person of color in her neighbourhood. “For people to pop into my house with cops and CPS because someone did an anonymous call involving my children?” Cardi questioned, emphasizing the emotional toll it had on her as a mother.
Cardi B vowed to take swift legal action, stating, “I’m going to sue child protective services and I’m also going to sue the person who made this call.” She mentioned plans to hire a top private investigator to track down the individual responsible for the false claim, underscoring that she and her ex-husband take their children’s well-being very seriously.
In her closing remarks, she expressed how unacceptable the prank was, especially when it involved her family, adding that her children have never been mistreated in any way.
