Only relocate if there’s no hope for you in Nigeria – Singer Candy Bleakz
Nigerian singer Candy Bleakz has shared her unfiltered perspective on the growing trend of relocation, popularly known as “japa,” advising Nigerians to carefully consider the realities of living abroad before making the move.
In a recent video, the singer shed light on the struggles many Nigerians face after relocating to countries like the United Kingdom, often seen as havens for better opportunities.
“Everybody is talking about Japa, Japa, Japa, and moving to the UK, but nobody talks about the price they have to pay,” she said. “Did you tell them about working every day from seven to six? Did you tell them about the cold, the bills, or how hard life is there?”
Candy Bleakz described the UK lifestyle as demanding and monotonous, highlighting the lack of social interaction and the relentless grind to meet daily expenses.
“People don’t greet each other in the UK, and they don’t go out unnecessarily because of ticket costs. You work as if you’re going to die. Imagine working all your life just to pay bills,” she remarked.
While acknowledging the peace and stability in countries like the UK, Candy advised Nigerians who are financially stable and thriving at home to think twice about relocating.
“If you’re in Nigeria, blessed, and making money, don’t relocate here. It’s stressful and boring. Only consider japa if there’s no hope for you in Nigeria. Even some people in the UK want to go back home,” she concluded.
The singer’s candid remarks have sparked widespread discussion online, with many resonating with her thoughts while others debated the merits of relocating for a better life.
