Burna Boy Joins Wizkid And Davido As The Only Nigerians To Do This

YE’ by Burna Boy is now certified platinum in the US
Burna Boy has joined another certification to his growing list of plaques and thanks to his 2018 song, “Ye“, he recently bagged a Platinum certification in the US.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and CKay have all achieved a remarkable feat in the US by becoming the only Nigerian musicians to sell more than one million units in the country (RIAA).
Burna Boy was the latest addition to the growing list of artists that have already attained this as his hit single ‘Ye,’ obtained its Platinum certification in the US by the RIAA on Thursday, January 26, 2023, following its release in August 2018.
The hit song ‘Ye‘ received its gold certification on the 3rd of May 2021 and has received Gold certifications in three countries, (Canada, France and the UK).
Wizkid and Tems also received the platinum certification for the hit song ‘Essence,’ CKay with the smashing song ‘Love Nwantiti’ and Davido with the classic song ‘Fall.’
