Burna Boy set new record on Spotify with ‘Love, Damini’ album.
With the release of his album “Love, Damini,” multi-award-winning musician Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu MFR, also known as Burna Boy, has broken a new Spotify record.
Burna Boy’s album “Love, Damini” is now his most streamed on Spotify.
Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, “Love, Damini,” which was released on July 7, 2023, has achieved great success domestically as well as internationally, thanks in large part to the popularity of the lead track “Last Last.”
As of today, ‘Love, Damini‘ has surpassed Burna Boy’s 2019 album ‘African Giant‘ to become the artist’s most-streamed album on Spotify.
With the massive popularity of “Last Last,” which has amassed over 256 million streams, and “For Your Hand,” featuring Ed Sheeran, which has topped over 161 million streams, this goal was achieved. ‘Its Plenty’ has received over 61 million streams, as well.
Odogwu has released four albums in the past five years, beginning with his third album, “Outside,” in 2018. His third straight Grammy nomination came for the record, after nods for “Twice As Tall” (2020) and “African Giant” (2019).
While ‘Love, Damini‘ didn’t garner as much praise from critics as ‘African Giant‘ and ‘Twice As Tall,’ it has received more praise from the general public thanks to the popularity of ‘Last Last‘ on a global scale.
