Nigerian Afrobeat and Afrofusion artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, is having a good run with his hit song ‘Last Last’ as it breaks Wizkid’s “Essence” record in the U.S.

The CEO of Spaceship Entertainment wasn’t exaggerating when he said that the number-one song has brought in more money for him than any of his other top hits.

The 2022 jam, “Last Last,” from the African Giant’s most recent album, “Love, Damini,” has sold over 500,000 units in the United States of America, marking another major career milestone for him.

The song is now qualified for a Gold Certification from the Recording Industry Association of America thanks to this achievement (RIAA). ‘Last Last’ is also the first Afrobeats song to have sold over 500,000 units in less than 17 weeks after its release.

With this achievement, Burna Boy has officially broken the record set by Wizkid with ‘Essence’ which took more than 17 weeks to bag a gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)
