Burna Boy debuted the song on April 28 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, when he became the first Nigerian musician to headline a show at the venue.

The song, however, was released on May 13, 2022, by Atlantic Records as the lead single from the Grammy winner’s sixth studio album, Love, Damini.

Although “Last Last” peaked at No. 44 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, the record went No. 1 on their U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.

Burna Boy also managed to concurrently land a record-breaking 23 tracks on the charts, in addition to “Last Last” being on Billboard’s Afrobeat chart.

With Love, Damini joined his Grammy-winning record Twice As Tall and Grammy-nominated effort African Giant, he also made history by being the first Nigerian musician to have three albums on the Billboard 200.

Love, Damini is the international superstar’s most recent album. There are 19 songs on the album, and J Balvin, J Hus, Khalid, Popcaan, Kehlani, Blxst, Ed Sheeran, and others feature.

The album became the highest-ranking Nigerian album ever when it debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 Chart. The album’s song “Last Last” was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards.
