Burna Boy’s ‘Alone’ achieves a great feat in the United Kingdom
Burna Boy’s song “Alone” reached significant success in the United Kingdom and is now certified silver. It’s from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever—Mystic From and Inspired By album.
Previously certified gold in France after surpassing 15 million digital streams in September 2023, the album, released in November 2022 via Roc Nation Records, Def Jam Recordings, and Hollywood Records, features collaborations with other African stars including Nigeria’s Rema, Ckay, Tems, Fireboy DML, and South Africa’s DBN Gogo, Sino Msolo, Kamo Mphela, Young Stunna, and Busiswa.
Burna Boy’s digital successes continue to grow, with his sixth studio album, Love, Damini, achieving gold status in France in early October. During a ceremony in Lagos on October 24, 2023, TurnTable Charts, a Nigerian charts company, presented Burna Boy with 11 plaques, including the highest certified album in Nigerian history (Love Damini, 5x Platinum) and the highest certified single in Nigerian history (Sungba (Remix), 4x Platinum).
