Burna Boy threatens to sue Nigerian online bloggers.
Nigerian Afro-fusion superstar Burna Boy has issued another stern warning to Nigerian online bloggers, this time with a legal edge.
Previously, on November 3, 2023, Burna Boy had suggested a meeting with media outlets like Pulse NG and Instablog, proposing a financial arrangement to dissuade them from featuring him in their future publications.
On November 15, 2023, the Grammy-winning artist took a more serious tone, announcing his contemplation of hiring 100 lawyers to pursue defamation suits against Nigerian bloggers. This decision follows his earlier offer of monetary incentives to discourage them from covering him.
Despite this legal stance, Burna Boy expressed understanding, acknowledging that bloggers are simply trying to make a living.
On his social media platform, he remarked, “The money I wanted to give Instablog that time, it seems like I might have to give like 100 lawyers now. But I understand everyone is hustling, so it would hurt me to go that route. Why are you all pushing me?”
