Burna Boy Set to Become the First Nigerian Artist to Headline a US Stadium.
Burna Boy will make history in July when he becomes the first Nigerian performer to headline a US stadium.
The Afro-fusion superstar’s Love, Damini world tour, which includes upcoming stops at Paris La Defense, London Stadium, and Gelre Dome in Amsterdam, adds another significant stadium date with his performance on 8 July at NYC’s Citi Field.
The Live Nation-produced concert at Citi Field takes place on the first anniversary of Burna’s most recent album, Love, Damini, which climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard World Albums chart and was nominated for the 2023 Grammy for Best Global Music Album.
Burna would be the first and only Nigerian musician to do this. The African Giant has continued to establish milestones when it comes to holding performances in various regions of the world.
Last April, the “Last Last” singer became the first Nigerian performer to headline Madison Square Garden for his “Burna Boy Presents One Night in Space” performance.
The next couple of months will be very hectic for Burna. He gave a performance to remember at Raleigh, North Carolina’s Dreamville Music Festival over the weekend.
In addition, he will attend Coachella in Indio Valley, California, again in April, and then perform at Afro Nation Miami in May. He will also co-headline the Pepsi Kick-Off Concert for the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final in June at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium.
