Burna Boy explains why he sampled JHus’ Instagram story on ‘City Boys’

He emphasized that there was a time when such individuals were not celebrated, and societal norms favored light-skinned individuals.
By incorporating J Hus’s voice and message into “City Boys,” Burna Boy aimed to shed light on these issues and challenge beauty standards and stereotypes that marginalized certain groups of people. The song serves as a commentary on society’s changing perceptions and the importance of self-acceptance and self-love.
