Burna Boy reveals why he discarded a full album to record African Giant

The singer discloses how he recorded the African Giant album in 2019.
The Nigerian Grammy Award-winning artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, has revealed why he discarded a full album to record his 2019 African Giant project.
He also disclosed that he recorded the African Giant album because he felt insulted by the Coachella incident of 2019.
Recall that in 2019, he was listed among the artists scheduled to perform at Coachella that year, but his name was written in small characters and he had difficulties finding it.

During an interview on Billboard’s Music Con, he stated that he started calling himself African Giant after that controversial moment and went ahead to make the Grammy-winning album.
The ‘Ye’ crooner, said that he had another album ready to be released that period, but he dumped it.
He added that the Coachella incident motivated him to record the African Giant from the scratch and that if the incident had not occurred, he would have released the other album.
