Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy received a prestigious honor in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, March 2.
Boston declared March 2 as ‘Burna Boy Day’ in recognition of the musician’s outstanding performances and advocacy efforts. The announcement was made official through a letter signed by Ruthzee Louijeune, the Boston City Councilor.
A video capturing the joyful event circulated online, showcasing a female host presenting two plaques to the ‘Last Last’ crooner. Burna Boy was visibly filled with excitement as he proudly raised the certificate, sharing the moment with his fans and social media users alike.

Aside from receiving the honor, Burna Boy has broken records once more, becoming the first African musician to sell out a 21,000-seat arena in Montreal.
At his much awaited show at the Centre Bell in Montreal, Canada, The African Giant wowed an electrified audience of 21,000 people.
This accomplishment broadens Burna Boy’s already excellent resume. He made history earlier this year when he became the first African musician to perform on the Grammy Awards stage.
As part of his “I Told Them” tour, Burna Boy recently made a swing in Canada. He performed to a sold-out Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, continuing his record-breaking streak.
