Nigerian Artists have banded together to call for the release of Fast-Rising stars, Omah Lay, and Tems after they were arrested by Ugandan police.
Tems and Omah Lay were earlier arrested by police officers in Kampala, Uganda capital for flouting COVID-19 guidelines.
They were arrested after performing on Saturday night at a concert held in Speke Resort, Wavamunno Road, Kampala, Uganda.
The police force announced on Monday via its official Twitter handle that it would be charging them to courts.
The Uganda police force said earlier plans of releasing them on police bond were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP.

This is a Set-Up and we all must join voices together!!
Did Omah Lay and Tems invite themselves to Uganda?? How do you arrest Nigerian Artistes in your country over a show that they didn’t organize??
Why didn’t they just postpone or cancel the show if shows weren’t allowed?— MrMacaroni (@mrmacaronii) December 14, 2020
Wasn't there prior publicity about the show? why wasn't it shut down before it was held? why are you arresting some particular artists that performed? Who organised the show? #FreeOmahLay#FreeTems

Makes no sense as to why you arrest performers at an event that’s already happened
Makes no sense— ZAHEER! (@iam_YCee) December 14, 2020
@PoliceUg @StateHouseUg Free Omah lay and Tems.
— Olamidé (@Olamide) December 14, 2020
But I think it should be the organizers that are responsible of a show. They organizers are technically responsible for the guests. Wahala no Dey, they should come out soon.

its even a BIGGER shame that the Nigerian authorities have kept mute on this and if they're making any effort, they owe it to us to carry Nigerians along. @abikedabiri @GovUganda #FreeOmahLay #FreeTems
