Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Darkoo & Obongjayar Rev Up the Global Stage with F1: The Album

In a defining moment for African music’s international footprint, top Nigerian and UK-based artists Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Darkoo, and Obongjayar have been unveiled as key contributors to F1: The Album, the official soundtrack for the forthcoming Formula 1 movie.
The project, created to mirror the speed, spectacle, and emotional tension of Formula 1, features a fusion of sonic styles, and these African stars are front and centre in delivering the drama.
Burna Boy, no stranger to cinematic music, takes the lead with “Don’t Let Me Drown,” a gripping, soul-laced ballad driven by orchestral layers and lyrical vulnerability. With lines like “Nights like these, there’s something mystical…” the Grammy winner injects emotion and tension into the fast-paced world of F1.
Mr. Eazi, known for his breezy Afro-chill stylings, follows with a rhythmically relaxed yet catchy track, offering a balance to the soundtrack’s otherwise high-octane energy. His signature laid-back delivery creates a moment of calm amidst the cinematic intensity.
Obongjayar, celebrated for his alternative edge and lyrical depth, delivers a haunting, atmospheric number that elevates the film’s emotional arcs. His genre-fluid approach blends perfectly with the film’s ambitious vision.
Rounding out the African lineup is Darkoo, who turns up the heat with a fiery UK-Nigerian fusion track. Her bold bars and commanding delivery are tailor-made for the movie’s high-speed chase scenes, capturing the wild rush of the racetrack.
Together, the four artists bring a rich blend of Afrobeats, rap, soul, and electronic elements to a global project that breaks genre and geographical boundaries. With other stars like Doja Cat and Roddy Ricch also on the roster, F1: The Album is a global musical engine roaring with diversity.
More than just a soundtrack, the album is a cultural statement proving that African music is not only global but also integral to some of the world’s biggest pop culture moments. As Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Darkoo, and Obongjayar step into this cinematic space, they carry with them the sound of a continent that continues to redefine the global music experience.
