Burna Boy loses all five nominations at NAACP Image Awards 2024
Nigerian music icon Burna Boy experienced disappointment at the 55th NAACP Image Awards 2024, as he did not clinch victory in any of his five nominated categories.
The awards ceremony, held virtually on Monday, March 11, 2024, marked the prestigious event’s opening night.
Burna Boy led the pack as the African Artist with the most nominations, receiving recognition in five distinct categories.
His nominations encompassed Outstanding Male Artist, Outstanding International Song for “City Boys,” Outstanding Hip-Hop/Rap Song for “Sittin’ On Top of The World,” Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration for “Sittin’ On Top of The World” featuring 21 Savage, and Outstanding Album for “I Told Them.”
Despite his notable presence across multiple categories, Burna Boy did not secure a win in any, yielding to other artists.
The NAACP Image Awards are esteemed for honoring remarkable achievements and representation of people of color across various domains, including film, television, music, and literature.
While Burna Boy’s setback may disappoint his fans and supporters, the event also showcased significant triumphs, including Tems and Davido’s victories.
