    Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, has ignited a massive buzz on social media with his candid remarks regarding online giveaways.

    During an Instagram live session with his multitude of fans on Thursday, March 21, 2024, the City Boys crooner expressed his skepticism towards participating in such giveaways. He voiced his belief that these giveaways often fail to reach those who genuinely need assistance.

    Responding to a fan’s request for a giveaway, Burna Boy articulated his stance, explaining that he prefers to direct his charitable efforts towards places and individuals where it truly matters.

    The talented artist emphasized that the true beneficiaries of his aid are often not active on the internet, stating, “Me I no dey follow una do Instagram giveaway o, I do giveaway to places that it really matters, to people that really need it and most of them are not on the internet, some of them no even know wetin be Instagram.”

    Burna Boy’s remarks have sparked controversy and prompted discussions among fans and followers, leading to reflection on the effectiveness and impact of social media-based philanthropy.

    Recall, Music icon Burna Boy experienced disappointment at the 55th NAACP Image Awards 2024, as he did not clinch victory in any of his five nominated categories.

    The awards ceremony, held virtually on Monday, March 11, 2024, marked the prestigious event’s opening night.

    Burna Boy led the pack as the African Artist with the most nominations, receiving recognition in five distinct categories.

    His nominations encompassed Outstanding Male Artist, Outstanding International Song for “City Boys,” Outstanding Hip-Hop/Rap Song for “Sittin’ On Top of The World,” Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration for “Sittin’ On Top of The World” featuring 21 Savage, and Outstanding Album for “I Told Them.”

    Despite his notable presence across multiple categories, Burna Boy did not secure a win in any, yielding to other artists.
