Burna Boy and Fireboy win big at 2023 BMI Awards in London.
The renowned Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) London Awards 2023 were held at London’s famous Savoy Hotel, and two well-known Nigerian musicians, Burna Boy and Fireboy DML, were honored for their remarkable accomplishments.
The special event, which was hosted by BMI President and CEO Mike O’Neill, served as a platform for the evening’s celebration of outstanding musical accomplishments.
The coveted ‘Most Performed Work of the Year’ awards went to Burna Boy and Fireboy DML for their respective singles.
Both Burna Boy’s chart-topper “Last Last” and Fireboy DML’s stunning Peruvian duet with British artist Ed Sheeran were hailed as standout songs that won over music aficionados all over the world.

The internationally renowned Nigerian-British record producer Richard Isong, better known by his stage name P2J, was presented with the esteemed “Impact Award” for his outstanding services to the music business, adding to the list of honors bestowed upon Nigerian artists.
Among the other notable honorees, British music veteran Gary Kemp received the prestigious “Icon Award” in recognition of his ongoing influence and achievements in the music industry.
The Nigerian musicians and producers’ achievements were highlighted by the BMI London Awards 2023, which also highlighted their contributions to the world of music.
