Burna Boy Gets New Platinum Certification in France, Gears Up for Eighth Album

Grammy-winning Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy has secured yet another major milestone in his illustrious career with a new platinum certification from France’s SNEP.
The latest honor comes courtesy of Donne-Moi L’accord, his 2019 collaboration with French superstar Dadju. The song, which has continued to enjoy massive digital success, has surpassed 50 million streams on Spotify, further cementing Burna Boy’s influence in the global music scene.
This achievement adds to an already remarkable 2025 for the Afro-fusion star. He recently received an RIAA gold certification for Alone, his contribution to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
The song, a fan favorite, was nominated for Best Global Music Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards and has accumulated an impressive 164 million Spotify streams, making it the second most-streamed track from the album, behind Rihanna’s Lift Me Up.
Burna Boy’s dominance on the international stage continues to grow, with Alone marking his sixth RIAA certification and fourth solo plaque. He remains the first Nigerian artist to have three albums surpass 500 million streams on Spotify.
Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be another landmark year for the African Giant as he prepares to release his highly anticipated eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness.
The project has been preceded by three singles—Higher, which earned a nomination for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards, Bundle By Bundle, released in December 2024, and Update, which dropped in February 2025.
In addition to his musical feats, Burna Boy recently made history as the first artist to grace the cover of Billboard France Magazine.
During the exclusive interview, he reflected on the meteoric rise of Nigerian music and his pivotal role in shaping its global success.
With an impressive track record of Grammy-nominated albums, Burna Boy is set to continue his reign as one of Africa’s most influential global superstars with his upcoming project.
