Nigerian Entertainers, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Femi Kuti have all been named on the Global Citizen Live concert lineup for 2021.
On Tuesday, July 13th, 2021, the lineup for this year’s Global Citizen Live concert was revealed. The lineup was published on the organizers’ Instagram page.
They said in their caption that the concert will be streamed live for 24 hours across six continents, making it a “once-in-a-generation” event.
They wrote;
“#GlobalCitizenLive, featuring @teddysphotos, @lorde, @theweeknd, @bts.bighitofficial & more, is on Sept. 25! Live across 6 continents, this 24-hour, once-in-a-generation broadcast + livestream event will bring the world together to defend the planet & defeat poverty.”
Veteran afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti is also joining Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Burna Boy on this year’s lineup.
Also included in the lineup this year are Adam Lambert, Alessia Cara, Andrea Bocelli, Angélique Kidjo, Billie Eilish, BTS, Camila Cabello, Coldplay, Demi Lovato, DJ Snake, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, H.E.R., Keith Urban, Lizzo, Lorde, Metallica, Rag’n’Bone Man, Ricky Martin, Shawn Mendes, The Lumineers, The Weeknd, and Usher. More locations and artists will be unveiled later on.

The event will premiere on ABC, ABC News Live, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, Twitter, and other platforms on Saturday, September 25, 2021, with performances and live events throughout Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America.

Global Citizen Live is part of a larger campaign to protect the environment and end poverty that is being spearheaded by individuals all around the world who are collaborating with governments, corporations, and philanthropists to effect change.
Artists, activists, and world leaders will take the stage at iconic locations around the world, including live events in New York City’s Central Park and Paris’ Champ de Mars; live-crosses from London and Los Angeles; and performances and hosted segments from Lagos, Rio de Janeiro, Seoul, and Sydney.
