In the month of April, there was public outrage after Burna Boy was allegedly rewarded by Rivers State Governor, Wike Nyesom during his homecoming concert.

According to reports, Wike rewarded the singer with 10 million cash and a piece of land for winning a Grammy Award.

This led to public condemnation from people who believed that Burna was a hypocrite after he had on different occasion blamed Nigerians for corruption perpetrated by Nigerian leaders

Burna in a recent back and forth with Nigerian Twitter Users confirmed his mother’s statement. According to him, he wasn’t given a dime and only the artists who honoured him during the event were paid.

“Lol. I didn’t get a dime. Only the artists who honoured me by performing at my homecoming were paid. Get your facts right.” He wrote
