Bruno Fernandes dismisses claims that he and teammate Ronaldo have a falling out.
As he has been minimized, Bruno Fernandes has refuted claims that he had a falling-out with his teammate from Portugal and Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Following an ugly interview this week in which he attacked Erik ten Hag and the club’s owners, Ronaldo appears to have played his final game for United.
The 37-year-old is currently training with the Portugal squad in advance of their World Cup campaign, which kicks off on November 24 against Ghana.
At their first encounter since his remarks, Fernandes and Ronaldo exchanged a stiff handshake at the team’s base, and Fernandes didn’t seem particularly impressed.

Although the United midfielder was one of the last players to enter the changing room, teammate Joao Mario said Ronaldo had playfully asked Fernandes if he had arrived at the camp by boat.
‘I was in the locker room at that moment, I saw the images, and it’s funny because sometimes it can be interpreted but it was a joke between them,’ Mario said. ‘There is no problem between them.’
And Fernandes seemed to back up that version of events when he tweeted:
‘Oh Joao Mario, there you are ruining the headlines!’
Asked if the interview puts more pressure on the team ahead of the World Cup, Mario replied:
‘There’s not much to say about it. Ronaldo’s totally focused.’
