Brighton turn down £80m Caicedo bid from Chelsea
Chelsea’s bid for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo has been rejected.
The London club made an £80 million ($103 million) offer for the player, which was turned down immediately by Brighton according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
This was Chelsea’s third bid for the player, with the previous two being £60 million ($77 million) and £70 million ($90 million).
The negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, but as of now, there is no agreement reached on the transfer fee. Metro reports that Brighton values Caicedo at over £100 million ($128 million), and Chelsea will need to consider whether to make a fourth offer for the Ecuadorian international.
Chelsea is working on restructuring their squad under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, with several signings and departures already taking place during the summer transfer window. Caicedo seems to be a key target for Chelsea, but the final decision remains to be seen.
