Boypee denies Davido royalty grab rumors, slams gossipers.

Nigerian artist Boypee has responded strongly to rumors suggesting that fellow Afropop star Davido has been involved in “royalty grabbing,” a practice where artists are allegedly exploited by record labels and industry insiders.

Boypee, who was featured on Davido’s viral wedding hit “Ogechi Rmx,” has firmly denied claims that the song was removed from YouTube due to Davido’s alleged attempt to claim all the royalties.

Taking to his X page, Boypee shut down the rumors, questioning, “Who said that? To what end, really? What would anyone gain from my downfall?” He challenged the motives behind these false accusations and the intention behind spreading such misinformation.

The song, owned by Brown Joel, Hyce, and Boypee, was reportedly taken down from YouTube due to copyright issues. However, Boypee’s swift and emphatic denial has shifted attention to the rumor mongers and their possible intentions.

The controversy surrounding “Ogechi Remix” has sparked a broader conversation about copyright and royalty issues within the music industry. As the situation continues to unfold, fans and industry insiders are closely watching for a resolution to this dispute.
