My parents wanted me to pursue gospel music, Boohle.
In a recent interview with Slikour, Boohle discusses her life and musical career in detail. The South African vocalist discusses her parents’ initial desire for her to pursue gospel music and how she eventually won their acceptance.
The singer claimed that her perseverance and diligence had shown her to be correct in selecting the path she had taken and had won her their support.
“Just work hard and you are responsible for making them understand and believe in your dream. Work hard enough so they do believe and understand.”
“My parents always wanted me to go to the gospel, that could have been ideal for all of them, church, parents … I made them look at it as music, as a craft; that this is what I like doing. So work hard enough to make them proud,” she said.
