Bnxn reveals he regrets missing collaboration requests from 21 Savage, Chainsmokers
Nigerian artist BNXN expressed his disappointment after discovering missed direct message (DM) requests from American artists 21 Savage and The Chainsmokers.
Sharing screenshots of the overlooked messages on his Snapchat page on Sunday, April 14, 2024, BNXN revealed the unexpected requests for collaboration.
One snapshot, dated 2022, displayed a message from The Chainsmokers praising BNXN’s musical style and expressing interest in a potential collaboration. The chat read, “Yo my guy! Huge fans here! We want to send you some tunes maybe see if we can get a big one together! Happy to email or text or have our manager hit yours.”
Additionally, 21 Savage also reached out to BNXN with a DM request, which went unnoticed by the Nigerian singer until recently. Reflecting on the missed opportunities, BNXN expressed his regret and pledged to pay more attention to his Instagram DM requests in the future.
“I need to check my messages more smh. Like SMH. Wetin I dey do??” he captioned the screenshots, lamenting the time lost without realizing the potential collaborations.
Fans and fellow artists have since encouraged BNXN to remain vigilant and seize future opportunities for international partnerships.

In a surprising twist, BNXN and Ruger have announced their collaboration on a joint EP titled “RnB,” set to release on April 19, 2024.
Despite past online conflicts, the artists have chosen to unite, channeling their energy into enhancing their musical repertoire.
Their journey towards this collaboration began with the release of the track “Romeo Must Die” earlier in 2024, which teased fans with a taste of their combined talent.
BNXN, formerly known as Buju, set the stage by sharing a photo of himself in a captain’s uniform on social media, signaling a new chapter in their partnership.
Following suit, Ruger joined in, solidifying their commitment to collaboration and announcing the upcoming EP.
The joint EP phenomenon appears to be gaining momentum in the Nigerian music scene, with “RnB” comprising seven tracks, including “POE” and “Romeo Must Die.”
