Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter and record producer Daniel Benson, known professionally as BNXN and formerly known as Buju, has hit a new career achievement with his newly released project, “Bad Since 97” EP.
The singer achieves a new feat that has only been attained by Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, and is raking in applause and accolades with the release of his most recent project, Bad Since ’97.
Bad Since ’97 was released on August 24th to rave reviews and is BNXN’s debut project since changing his name from Buju.
The EP, which peaked at number one on the UK Apple Music charts, earned him a seat at an exclusive table with Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, who had previously been the only Nigerian acts to reach the top five positions on the charts.

The EP had previously peaked at number one on the Apple Music Nigeria album chart.
Due to this achievement, BNXN’s project coexists with internationally acclaimed initiatives like Beyonce’s “Renaissance,” Harry Styles’ “Harry’s House”, and Aitch’s “Close To Home.”
After albums by Megan Thee Stallion, “Rod Wave”, and other notable American bands, Bad Since ’97 debuted at the number 6 spot on the US Apple music charts, reaching respectable heights there as well.
All these achievements make the EP the third highest charting Nigerian project after Burna Boy’s “Love Damini” and Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos.”
